Kyoto - Temple, Shrine, Museum and Gallery Visits
Students will travel by ferry, bus and bullet train from Naoshima to Kyoto.
In Kyoto students will be exposed to Japanese traditional art and culture. They will visit world-famous temples and shrines such as Kiyomizu-dera, Fushimi-inari, and Ryoanji, and experience Japanese tea ceremony as well as traditional Kyoto style cuisine. Museum, gallery and studio visits are scheduled to learn about traditional craft objects. During those visits students will discover the Japanese traditional sensitivity to the texture, space, and presentation.
