6/25 - 6/27
Naoshima, Teshima and Inujima - Benesse Art Site Naoshima Visit
After students worked with water and fiber with their hands to make papers from scratch, they take a ferry to Naoshima island. The island is the center of Benesse Art Site Naoshima. Students will stay there for three nights to experience art in this unique environment.
Benesse Art Site Naoshima has many museums and art projects located on three islands. Among the many art projects, students will see a James Turrell light installation, Claude Monet's paintings, Lee Ufan's sculpture and paintings, as well as a Walter De Maria's sculpture, and distinctive architecture by Tadao Ando. Students will experience how art and nature coexist in an unmatched symbiosis. They will use ferries and rental bicycles to travel between the islands and various art sites. |
